NOTES-
Here on the south side of Lakeland September was slightly below normal temperature wise and below normal precipitation wise.
The culprit was repeated periods with longwave troughing in the eastern U.S., as well as the deep layered Sonoran heat ridge expanding eastward into the S.E. U.S. and a strengthening La Nina. This allowed continental origin surface high pressure systems to pump drier than normal air into the state from the NE at low and mid levels. The Sonoran heat ridge brought upper and mid level drying due to subsidence.
